Success story: Zayer ARION G machine Integration via MIC automation platform

ZAYER and SMARTPM have worked together on an industrial automation project, consisting of the integration of the MIC platform and the ARION G high-performance machine, provided by Zayer in a real manufacturing environment.

Objetive:

To boost the capacity of ZAYER’s ARION G multifunction machining machine with SMARTPM’s MIC process automation technology.

Implementation:

MIC automation platform is implemented coupled with ZAYER’s connected machine and configured with the defined scope. In this case, we are looking to manage unattended machining and measuring operations, integrating Siemens 840D sl CNC and integrating Hexagon and Renishaw inspection probes.

With a “less than a week”  implementation time, the actual machining process is carried out with different stages controlled by MIC. According to the inspection data collected by the platform, reprocessing is also carried out autonomously, with tool correction. All this autonomously without operator intervention.

Conclusion:

The entire process has been successfully executed autonomously controlled from a single point. MIC has managed a multi-programming workflow that includes not only machining and inspection, but also automated decision-making based on the inspection results.

✔ The MIC platform has easily adapted to the machine configuration and has facilitated the control of the work in process, not only capturing information from the machining centre control, but also sending programs to the machining centre for execution.

Automation has improved production flexibility, reduced setup and diagnostic times and maximised the usability of ZAYER’s ARION G machine.
